Baking Pies

Pecan Pie
Pecan Pie

We're having our Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's tomorrow and I'm taking my "famous" pecan pie. It's so good! I'll also be making broccoli and rice and cheese grits.

Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? What are your favorite Thanksgiving foods? I have to admit that I look forward to pecan pie all year. :)

Its just my husband, myself and our daughter this year. We are having a turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, gluten free biscuits and gluten free chocolate cheesecake. I actually wasnt planning on doing Thanksgiving this year but my husband talked me into it so I didnt have alot of time to plan more than that.

I fully intended on making the full meal this year like always for just our family (we never live near family so I always make the big meal by myself and we have lots of leftovers) but....last week a friend called and invited us to her Thanksgiving! I get to make a pie to bring and relax this year! I'm making a White Chocolate Cherry Almond Cream Pie, that's a mouthfull, I need to come up with a better name for it, lol.

My inlaws are here and we will be having friends as well. I've been cooking all day long and I'm tired! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I hope it's not impolite of me to interfere :) I'm following your blog, and because of the time difference your evening posts are the first thing I read in the morning at work, and they do make the beginning of my day :) We do not celebrate anything like Thanksgiving here, but the idea of a pecan pie is actually quite tempting anyway. Now that pecans have been sold in our supermarkets for more than a year, it's high time I tried baking something with them :)
Wish you and the whole big family a wonderful Thanksgiving :)

We are going 25 miles away to my Dad's house tomorrow. I'm taking the homemade rolls (Honey-wheat rolls) and a veggie tray.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

My grandmother comes over every year and I make dinner. Then we go upstairs to my in-laws for dessert :) I'm making turkey with bread stuffing, cornbread stuffing, homemade cranberry jelly, fresh greenbeans from our garden, homemade bread, butternut squash, mashed potatoes, corn, peas and gravy :) For desserts I made a New England Squash Pie, Apple Pie and my daughter is making a Chocolate Cream Pie and a Banana Cream Pie :) Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Yes, please post the recipe! Pecan pie is one of my husband's favorites, and I would love to have a recpie other than the one on the back of karo syrup jar...

We migrated to my in-laws this year, who are awesome people, and since it's a 5 hour drive we were told not to bring anything. So I'll be making all our traditional Thanksgiving dishes over the next week back at home. :-) Happy Thanksgiving! (And save me a slice of that pie...)
