Mexican Dress
In Texas it's practically the law that you have to eat Mexican food after church on Sundays. So as law abiding citizens, that's exactly what we were doing last Sunday when I noticed a woman (probably in her mid to late 30s) in a darling Mexican dress. She looked so cute! I had a purple one back in the 80s and I loved, loved, loved it! It was the coolest, most comfortable thing to wear in the summertime. It was a great casual dress with sandals and also cute to wear on the way to the pool. I literally wore it to shreds. I'm seriously thinking of ordering one as soon as I have a little money in my fashion budget.
Is this solely a Texas thing or are these sorts of dresses seen in other parts of the country?

One of my friends here in NY has a gorgeous yellow one that she wears. She wore it to a picnic I threw last summer and it was just perfect. She's in the 9th picture on this post about the picnic (can't miss her!) http://www.alwaysorderdessert.com/2009/07/we-had-picnic.html
I definitely want to get one like it!
I don't think I've seen any here in N.C. but they do look comfy!
It's a Texas thing.. Here in Maine, it's Lobster, clams and blueberries...we usually don't dress for dinner at home and there are very few real ethnic groups here. Love the dress.. Love the colors!
Haven't seen any here in Indiana, but they are super cute!
I have not seen any here in GA but I sure love that hot pink one, yeah I bet the yellow one is cool too, thanks love it, Hugs Barbara
Sassy California girls wear similar dresses! Go for it!!!
I haven't seen them here in NH but they're beautiful!
If I wore that in PA people would think it was a nightgown.
Really Popular!! Old Navy has some really cute ones!! Love it!
I don't think I've seen one of those in real life before....only in movies.
I LOVE these dresses! I don't know how many I have gone through, but I always have at least one or two in my wardrobe, and I wear them literally to shreds. Right now I have only one, a deep blue one. I remember how they used to be sold everywhere... often by the side of the road, or in parking lots. They have become harder to find than they used to be. :-(
