What can you do with a can of spray paint?

I bought these bar stools about 5 years ago at our church garage sale. They were brand new and we only paid $20 each for them. They were originally too tall to fit under the bar, so Mike sawed a few inches off the legs for me. I spray painted them black today (they were originally the light pine color of the chairs you see in the background). I think the new color gives my kitchen a whole new look. I wonder what else I can paint? :)

Love it - I have never used spray paint before - is it easy?

Lynn, yes it is! It has to be done outside or in a garage area so that you don't get paint everywhere, but it has a really nice finish that you can't get with a brush. I just took the seats off and took the stools to the back yard. I now have black spray paint stains in my grass. :)

They look lovely!
How many coats did you use and did you use a gloss or flat paint?

LOL! Suzie and I will paint anything that doesn't move! A gallon of paint is cheap and it will change a room or a peice of furniture dramatically! Even painting something like a picture frame or a mirror or spray painting the handles on your cabinets or a dresser will change up the look for just the cost of the paint.

You're right, the black has a nice grounding effect in your kitchen. Great job! (o:

Donna, I just did several light coats and I used gloss black. I used the cheap Wal Mart paint that is 96 cents a can and used about 2 cans for each stool.

Mrs. B thank you! I think they look so different and I'm very happy with them.
