A Tale of Two Coffeemakers

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...oh wait, that's another story.

Ahem... Once upon a time there were two coffeemakers.

There was a big red coffee maker and he lived at Lowe's. He liked to look at the riding lawnmowers and plumbing supplies.

There was also a petite and (slightly) round, green coffeemaker. She lived at Wal-Mart and liked to hang out on end-caps with the clearance items.

The big red coffeemaker liked his coffee with no foo-foo flavors. Just plain coffee for Red, thanks...nothing that "smells weird". It was best if he got his coffee in the supersize container from the warehouse store. You can never have too much coffee! He liked to start making coffee at precisely 6:15 am which is why he had a timer and a clock.

Green liked all sorts of flavored coffees and she preferred them in small amounts so that if she grew tired of one, she could try something different. She didn't have a clock and that was fine with her. Who wanted to be on a dumb ol' coffee schedule anyway? It was all about the joy of spontaneous brewing!

One day Red and Green came to live at the same house. They were a little unsure of each other at first because they were different, but they soon came to realize that sometimes different is good! Their differences suited their new owners and each other.

The gradually fell in love and began brewing in perfect harmony each morning. They are so happy with the pitter-patter of little mugs in the house and they lived happily ever after. The end.

Yes, I'm weird! :) This story came to me as hubby and I were making coffee in our separate coffeemakers this morning and I thought it would be fun to share it with you.

Too funny! If my funky old house had the counter space, I'd do just what you are doing. With us, it's not the flavor of coffee, it's the strength. I'm not a morning person. I want my coffee to be strong enough to come up the stairs and slap me awake...and Yes, my big burly guy is a wimpy coffee drinker.

Loooove the green coffee maker!

I can relate! Ours are both white, but we have a 12 cup and a 4 cup.

Cute! I wanted that lime green coffee pot, but I would've had to make three pots every morning just for myself so it wouldn't have been feasible. I loved your story though!

We're a Folgers family here, but it has to be the DARK roast. One coffeepot, but it's a BUNN, so it's done in like, seconds...literally. I can start the coffee, turn around and get my cup, slap some creamer in, and voila....coffee is ready!

my hubby and I both have our own coffee makers - his is for coffee and mine is for pots of hot tea.

Ours are both plain white though and I am thinking your colored ones are too cute!

My parents are the same way! My husband, however, being the coffee snob that his, God bless him, only uses an espresso maker or coffee press.

Would this go under the splurges for the kitchen? I can say it because we also have his and hers coffee makers! Love the colors!

LOLOL! Now I had no idea where you were going with this but its adorable! And I know there are separate grinders in stores for flavored and non flavored - altho why anyone wants non-froo froo coffee is beyond me. Flavored coffee drinkers are clearly superior, but hey. Whatevs!

Thanks ladies! I'm glad you liked it! :) When I showed it to hubby he thought it was hilarious. He wants me to print it out for his mom who doesn't do computers.

Came here from the Saturday Evening Post.

I enjoyed the story! I can't make coffee to save my life but I make great frappes and can brew a mean cup of instant. :)

Thanks for the smile.

Over from Elizabeth Esther's.

My husband and I both liked this post very much -- especially the last picture with all the little baby coffee cups gathered round. :)
