Cleaning the Fridge

I mentioned in yesterday's post that I cleaned the fridge. I cleaned both the inside and the outside. I always forget about the top of the fridge...out of sight out of mind I guess, but I remembered it this time.

I had report cards, pictures, artwork and reminders of upcoming events on the fridge and I decided to take them down. I think it looks so much neater and cleaner now.

You can see the pretty magnets that I got on my trip to Japan.

I didn't get rid of everything though. I just moved it to our "overflow" fridge in the laundry room. I kind of like it in there. It's like my own personal bulletin board. :)

The basket on top of the fridge holds everyone's lunch boxes when not in use.

Don't you just love having an overflow fridge!!!!! I don't know what I would have done without all this time. I find that mine is especially useful preparing for b-day parties.

I just love a fresh clean frig. After Christmas(I decorated the frig with Christmas cards) I kept all the junk off, I love it so much more. That makes me enjoy the precious magnets I really like jump out!

What a great day when it is clean!

BTW I love your new design!

I looks GREAT! Here's a quick tip you "may" already know. After cleaning the top off and scrubbing, put plastic wrap over it when dry. It saves a ton of work for the next time as you can just peel the dirt and dust away...it doesn't show way up there :)

Did you spend four hours cleaning it with a q-tip like Kate from J&K Plus Eight? LOL

Oh I love having a clean frig!

When I was a kid, my parents had an "overflow" frig, as well as a meat freezer. I thought it was so weird. Well, my husband's family happens to have the exact same setup! I guess having a second frig isn't as weird as I thought. =) Now I dream of having a meat freezer...

I think cleaning out the fridge is my least favorite job. My husband will actually do it when it gets really bad....he is not a cleaner...it must be pretty dirty for him to do it:-)

I LOVE that you have an overflow fridge!!! My mother is about to get one, too, and BOY does it sound wonderful to have extra storage for refrigerated items!!!
