I Hate Swimsuits!

Ladies on Beach, Florida
Ladies on Beach, Florida

We are going swimming with my two best friends and their families and I do not have a decent swimsuit! I have two choices. One swimsuit is a pair of swim shorts that are faded by years of chlorine with a top that is two sizes too big. The other has a skirt with a scoop neck top and is done in an oh so attractive old-lady print. Which to choose...ugly or uglier? That's what I get for putting off shopping for a swimsuit for at least the past 2 years.

I'll just have to wear my adorable "patio dress" until the last moment right as I jump in the pool and hope that I can get under the water before anyone has a chance to catch a glimpse.

We're going to have so much fun catching up and chatting! I can't wait!

Next to bra shopping…swimming suit shopping is the worst thing in the world! Okay, maybe not the worst thing, but the worst thing to shop for.

:) Hope

For years I wore an ugly swimsuit with a pair of shorts and a t-shirt over it to cover it up.

I finally bought a cute swimsuit but still wear shorts over it, lol! Have fun!

We are taking the family camping at the Lake for vacation. It will be hot and humid, and i will probably have to put on a swimsuit, the only problem is i have 3 maternity swimsuits, and 2 old swimsuits. I will probably just put a suit on with a skort over it.

I don't usually get in past my knees. I stay with the babies while everyone else swims.

My husband keeps teasing me that we're going skinny-dipping...i can just see that happening, there will be only 15 people on this little outing...

I hope the experience far out weighs the uncomfortable feeling that may come about. It is always akward being in a swimsuit around others!

It seems like the cute swimsuits are all outrageously priced too ($100+!!!). They cost more than an entire outfit sometimes. I usually try to get one at TJMaxx or Marshall's because they sell the designer suits at a discount. Other than that, there's nothing good about swimsuit shopping.

I got my swimsuit from World Swimwear.com I spoke with their consultant like 5 times (all for free) and they helped me select the best swimsuit to help with my pear shape and tummy.

I saw the cutest swimsuit in Country Living. If you go to Countryliving.com and look for the adorable red and white polka dot vintage-looking suit, you'll find it! You are young but you would look SO daring in it! It appeared as if they aren't too expensive. My last Eddie Bauer suit cost as much as a small piece of furniture! In Hawaii a few years ago, my heart was so warmed as I saw so many LARGE ladies walking around the beach, not in the least bit intimidated by what others might think of them and I vowed to remember not to worry any more. So few people have good swimsuit bodies and I love how Jamie Lee Curtis has tried to bunk the system and show her true stuff in the last few years. I hope you had a wonderful and watery day with your family!
