Getting Ready for Christmas

A Close View of a Decorated Christmas Tree
Decorated Christmas Tree

Mike is home today (he had to work Friday) so we are getting all the Christmas decorations down from the attic. He has the ladder out and we'll be on the roof shortly...well, he'll be on the roof and I'll be standing on the ground fretting and praying. :) I don't do heights and it scares me as much to have him on the roof as it does to be up there myself.

The kids will be so excited when they get home!

I'll be scarce around here today because I also have some cleaning and laundry to catch up on. Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!

Enjoy your Christmas decorating today! I did most of mine last week, except for the tree.

Many sweet blessings!

I have all new ornaments this year and I also started a new tradition. I bought ornaments that represent each one of my family. I found a red retro stove for me, a Santa teacher for DH, a Santa football player for DS1, two deer rifles and a camo cap for oldest DD, an Ipod for DD2, a cell phone for DD3, and a video game for DS2. Hobby Lobby had all their Christmas stuff 50% off and the store was full of people. It was very smart of them to do that huge sale after Black Friday. I can't wait to put my tree up now. In fact, I might have to buy another tree so I'll have room for all the new stuff I bought!

We did our tree Sunday night! Happy to have it up, it brightens me up when I walk into the room. Fun memories with years of ornaments collected :)

Normally I would have had the tree up and the house all decked out and ready to go before December 1st, but this year, I look a the box with the tree in it and the 5 huge Rubbermaid tubs in the closet and I get tired just thinking about hauling all that out.
I'm just not feeling really Christmas-y this year...that and God has been opening my eyes about Christmas and so I am going through some spiritual growing pains at the moment, but I know it's for the good and for His glory. :-)

God Bless You! Hope you are having a safe week!
