I have quite a few pieces of milk glass and I love it! Most of it was given to me by my grandmother or my mother, but I have a few pieces that I bought for a song at estate sales. They are useful as well as beautiful.
I also love my 2 sets of white dishes. They are classic and can go with any type of table linens whether casual or formal. I have about 20 of the milk glass goblets you see on the bottom shelf and I bring them out for every holiday and sometimes for no reason at all. They are very pretty with a little pudding or fruit in them for dessert too.
Be sure to head over to Hooked on Houses to see what everyone else is hooked on this week and to There is No Place Like Home to see other Show and Tell Fridays.
I was at an enstate sale today and I saw some of the milk glass. I thought about it, but I didn't buy any. It is beautiful though!
ReplyDeleteI love your collection, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteGlad your uncle is doing well and hanging in there.
My dad had emphysema too (as well as lung cancer). But it was the heart attack that took his life. He was a smoker and just couldn't give it up, until the end of his life but it was to late.
The damage to his heart was already done. I miss him so much and I hope that my children never smoke.
I love milk glass and white dishes as well!!! My grandmother taught me to appreciate them and it always reminds me of her to set my table.
ReplyDeleteSusan, next time go ahead and get it and send it to me! ;)
ReplyDeletemomstheword, thank you. Sorry about your dad. My uncle would still be smoking in the hospital if they let him. They have him one on of those oxygen masks that forces air into his lungs. I'm just hoping he'll hang in there and get better. I know he doesn't like being miserable in the hospital.
Jennifer, I'm glad to know someone else who loves milk glass and white dishes! Our grandmothers are smart ladies. :)
I have several pieces of milkglass that were passed down to me from my mother and grandmother.
ReplyDeleteYour collection is beautiful!

Greatc collection. My mom had some milk glass. I think I still have the bowl, but only one candlestick. After she passed away, it seemed to get misplaced. I love both pieces though. My mom always used it a Christmas time to fill the boel with ornaments and such. She use to have a crackle glass collection too...wonder where that went??
ReplyDeleteYour collection is beautiful. I am a big fan of milk glass;-) I especially like the vase in the top picture.

Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that the cabinet in the pic is really that neat and organized. I was just at her house and I starting looking for a coffee cup and opened that cabinet door and was like "Wow! where are all the butter dishes and jelly jars?"

Milk glass is beautiful, and your collection is just gorgeous! I just saw a bunch at a thrift store the other day for cheap, but now I wish I would've bought some! I also love older Pyrex dishes and Fiesta dishware. Still haven't collected much yet but I'll get there someday :)
