Let it go

Raking Leaves
Raking Leaves

Perfectionist: Noun(a person who is displeased by anything that does not meet very high standards)

Order and cleanliness at home is wonderful but life is just not perfect and our homes will never be immaculate and magazine ready as long as we really live in them. I don't know about you, but at my house as soon as I finish all the dishes, someone deposits a dirty glass in the sink. I finish raking the leaves, and more fall. I do laundry and everyone wants to change clothes. Sometimes you have to walk away from it and make the decision to do something fun and creative. Enjoy your home and your family and focus on the pretty flowers on the table or the scented candles in the bathroom, and look over the dusty lampshade and dog hair on the sofa. Let's not make ourselves and our families miserable trying to achieve something that's impossible.

I'll step over the football cleats by the front door and won't notice the muddy footprints on the carpet at your house and you do the same when you come to mine? OK?

  2. Deal! I always lamented that the only way you would be caught up with laundry would be if you did it naked.

I would love to achieve perfection but then home would not be home! I have to remind myself during one of "those" moments, that my family lives here too and they need to be at home and comfy It is no all about me (darn :)LoL

  6. Ain't this the truth??? I leave the kitchen after dinner with all the dishes done and the counters cleared and clean. I get up in the morning and there are dishes in the sink (if I'm lucky....sometimes they are just left out on the counter), crumbs or sticky sauce on the counter, and I know who the culprits are. Teens who don't go to bed till way late and decide on a midnight snack!!!

  11. If our house was always clean and neat, nobody would be living there. (better Remind me later ). This summer I came home to find the sink full of dishes a bike upside down in the living room next to skate board and footballs .Tools on the dinning room table . All the milk gone ... I could go on. What is the phrase :I am blessed to be stressed!

  12. You are quite right at that! Perectionism is what makes us insane, and I have come to recognize it quite soon when I lapse into this wretched state :))

  15. At least we are not the only ones who are like that! And that is a very comforting thought *However* is it really too much to ask that Himself pick up his socks?
