I can't believe that it's back to school time already. Today my youngest "baby" is starting middle school and starting Thursday I will only be a part-time homemaker. We are experiencing so many changes in our lives and in our family. New is hard, especially for people like me.
Just yesterday my oldest son was carrying a Spider Man Lunch box to school. Now he's a grown man serving his country overseas. Only one of my kids is still shorter than I am. They are such precious treasures to their mom and I am praying that they learn and grow and have wonderful new adventures in this coming year. I can't always be there to protect them from life's bumps and bruises no matter how much I wish I could. That's not the way being a mom is meant to be.
So I will remember...
Philippians 4:6-7 (The Message)
Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

My three year old marched off to preschool/mother's morning out today with a prayer from mom.... which also included his teacher!
God bless.
It's been 30 yrs since my dau marched off to her first day of school...and I still worry about her. A mom's worry doesn't end with their child reaching adulthood! Keep praying! That's what moms do! (smile)
Awe, beautiful post. I don't have children but I can imagine all the worrying that goes hand in hand with being a mom. I'm 36 and my mom still makes me call her when I get home from visting her....darn, now I feel like I need to call her:)
As a mom and the backbone of the family. We are sometimes required to adapt to what's best for our family. So, you're doing a great job!!
I'm not a big fan of change either, although I seem to be courting it at the moment! I'll be thinking of you.
Love the "message" version of that wonderful verse.
God's peace and blessings to you through all of the changes that come your way.
I really enjoyed your post today. I have been trying to practice this lately.

Time goes so fast! My baby is in 8th grade and my oldest will be having a baby this December. They told us it would y so quickly~I just never though it would go by this quick! Cherish each and every moment is my new motto! You shed a few tears and then tackle the new normal with excitement. I am going to be a Grandma~so exciting!

Time goes by so fast. But I don't think boys ever grow out of Spiderman. My husband is forty and last year he had a Spiderman cake, LOL!!!
Praying for protection for your son as he serves are nation. Blessings!!!
We have huge changes happening here too, so I can totally relate!
Are you getting a job?
Marytoo, no, but you're close. :) After much discussion, fretting and praying and lots of circumstances that I won't go into, I am going back to school to get my teaching certification. I will be specializing in math and science. I have all my classes scheduled when the kids are in school, but I'm still a little worried about how I'm going to balance it all. Plus the whole going back to school at my age thing... ;) Please keep me in your prayers!
Really enjoying your post. you are doing a great job!!
