Summer Fun
It's a good thing I live in Texas, because I love the Summer heat. OK, let me clarify that. I love summer heat the modern way. I love Summer heat when I have an air-conditioned home with ceiling fans to escape to, a pool in the backyard and an air-conditioned vehicle to drive. How those poor pioneer women survived in their long sleeved-dresses and no relief from the heat I don't know.
So what's to love? Well, the grass is a gorgeous shade of green under the shade of the willow tree, the garden is growing despite being occasionally trampled by little doggy feet and that Wal-Mart pool was the best money ever spent by the grandparents. Now that we've had several days of triple digit weather I love floating around in the cool water with the kids (the water was too icy before and I'm not a fan of my lips turning blue).
Grab yourself a big ol' glass of sweet tea from the pitcher in the fridge and come on out and float with me, won't you? We can talk and laugh and watch the kids play until the cows come home (whenever that is). Be sure and put on your hat and some sunscreen! Maybe I'll even make us an icebox pie.

June a pool and cool glass of sweet tea are in order for the afternoon.
Just let me grab my hat, sunscreen and large fluffy beach towel and I 'll float along till the cows come home :)
Blessings to you .
Happy Trails
This is so refreshing I am moving to San Antonio in less than 2 weeks and everyone keeps telling me not to move and it is going to be super hot and humid and I will hate it. I am like you though I love hot weather and I am so looking forward to moving and you just made me so much happier! ♥
Ice box pie? I'm in! :)
I agree, I'm not sure how the pioneer women did it. I know when I'm having a bad day I start thinking things could be a lot worse without all my modern appliances etc.

You just made me love summer.
:)
I love the heat too.. living in Maine we don't get a lot. But would love to join you in the pool with that sweet tea and pie!!
I love summer too as long as I can stay cool. My 9 year old daughter has been watching Little House and loves it, but it does remind me that they didn't have it easy. Though there are times I think I would like to go back some of those days. Much slower and family oriented.
Thanks for your blogs. You are an inspiration.
I'm in Texas too- I understand the heat! Stay cool!
And I'd love to join you! :)
Happy Summer!
I love that "summer fun U-pie" art you've got for today's post! It's putting me in the mood for a good ol July 4th celebration.
Have a great summer-hot weekend!
Greetings. I just stumbled upon your little blog haven. I'm enjoying your posts.
I use air conditioning 24/7 in my car. I can't stand air that is not circulating and on the cool side. I am a wimp here in SoCal. Being fair skinned, I don't do beaches anymore, and I only like Palm Springs with air conditioning and a pool just beyond my sliding glass doors.
It has been getting warmer here, although we are having the typical cloudy June days.
I will be back, KJ
P.S. Come and visit me!
