I got 5 too - I am an ok family cook - I tend not to worry whether salt is a spice or not (though I did get that right!) I would never serve consomme - and brunoise???????? I love Martha - but it's hardly the real recession hit world - lol! Do I sound miffed that I didn't score higher - lol!!!!
I also got five correct, but I'll admit I had to guess at most of them! I much prefer baking to cooking, I wonder if she has a quiz geared towards baking?
I got five right- that peppercorn question almost got me!
I am hosting a giveaway on my blog and wanted to let you and your readers know about it- I am currently reviewing a meal planning service called Relish www.relishrelish.com and I am giving away 2 3- month subscriptions to their service- customizable weekly meal planning.
Also 5 out of eight, but I'm not sure that is all that accurate as two I just guessed and happened to get it right. :)
Call me a bumpkin, but I think the quiz should have been titled 'cook or trained french chef'or something to the like. I know a lot of ladies who can do some serious cooking and I'm not sure they would have known that bit about chevril or what family the sezhuan peppercorn was from... haha...
I also got 5/10, but I know I'm a great cook anyway. The questions were quite irrelevant to ability, but then again, perhaps this is the stuff chefs need to know? All I know, my family loves my cooking - that's good enough for me!
I also got a 5/8. I am a cook, not a chef as my BIL (who is a chef) says to me. I don't know french (nor do I care to :-) and I use the "usual" spices, I don't worry what spice family they come from! LOL Shellie

How embarassing I only got 3 but I am so a baker not a cook! Oh well it was fun and I learned new things today! I love your blog by the way!
I got a 5, but I totally guessed on some of them, so I think I got lucky! :-)
I also got five! :-)

I got seven out of eight. If I hadn't used Wikipedia, I probably only would have gotten three. ;-)
I got 6. Should have had 7 but changed an answer:(

5 out of 8, also- but I don't really like to cook :-P

I only got half of them! It looks like I need to brush up on my French. If the quiz had been about Japanese cooking I would have been all set!
I got 5, but frankly, that surprised me. Mostly educated guessing. Who really uses that stuff?
