Holly Hobbie Apron

The girls helped me bake cookies yesterday so of course we had to get out the aprons. I thought you might like to see Cindy's Holly Hobbie apron. She had never even heard of Holly Hobbie until she got the apron, but she loves it. My best gal pal ordered it from Ebay for me (I still haven't figured out the whole Ebay thing...I know, I'm behind the times). I loved Holly Hobbie back in the 70s and I was thrilled for Cindy to have this retro apron.

I had Holly Hobbie curtains in my bedroom when I was a girl and I still have a little Holly Hobby blouse that I wore until my mother stopped me because it was too small and nearly threadbare. I love Holly Hobbie!

You know, I see all these pretty fabric aprons and they're so lovely I want to get one. But when we very first got married I bought a thin plastic, felt-lined apron (sort of like a plastic table cloth if you can picture what I mean) and love how dry it keeps me when I am cooking, cleaning, and especially when doing dishes (I am short, have a one-tub sink and no dishwasher, so keeping dry is a chore in itself!). I still have the thing six years later, pinned in two places, beat up, but because I find cloth aprons don't keep me totally dry and now having some sentiment attached to it, I just can't bring myself to switch. :)

Also, I totally have no use for the small aprons that only cover your lap. What are those for, exactly?

But this one sure is cute!

Blessings!

So cute. My five year old daughter loves Holly Hobbie, thanks to the new movies that play on Nick Jr sometimes. She would love an apron like that. I'll have to be looking for fabric for Christmas. I love reading your blog.
