Back to bargain hunting

I pretty much took the summer off from my coupon and deal shopping. That didn't mean that I spent whatever I wanted of course, I was just feeling burnt out on clipping and organizing coupons. There's nothing wrong with taking a break from clipping coupons if you need to. :) Today I took my first trip to Walgreen's in months. I had forgotten how much fun it is!

I got all the above, PLUS 2 cases of bottled water for less than $10. I also have a $10 register reward for my next Walgreen's visit.

I'm glad to be building up my cold medicine supply again. It was so nice last winter to have some on hand and not have to run to the store when someone got sick.

Hello! Just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying reading your blog. Though I have been online for about 4 yrs, I can count on one hand the number of times I have gone to a blog and read more than a post or two at the most. Yet, every since I found your blog today, I have been able to quit reading! :)

It is such a rarity to find another person who shares the same values, aspirations, and outlook! So, imagine my surprise when I not only found and enjoyed YOUR blog today, but also followed one of the links on your site and lucked upon ANOTHER kindred spirit! My cup truly runneth over! :)

Your posts are so inspiring and filled with such great ideas! I have already marked you both on my favorites and can see now that this will be one of my favorite internet stops!

The only bad thing about your blog is that it is so interesting, it is addictive! I haven't gotten anything done all morning! :)

I was also happy to see that your blog is infused with Biblical, Christian principals and core values. What a treat!

Thank you so much for creating this blog and the time you spend posting here.

I see from your posts that you have lots of friends and family in your circle, but if you ever want to chat with another like minded soul, feel free to email me anytime! I have NEVER been fortunate enough to even encounter anyone with the same core values and interests as me, (not even in church), let alone have the pleasure of actually emailing or talking to anyone with these values or aspirations! So, I would love to correspond with you if you ever have the time! My email is amaranthe.lynn@yahoo.com Drop me a line anytime. I would love to hear from you!

Oh, one more thing! Since, (like me), you are also a bargain hunter, I just wanted to let you know that right now Rite Aid is offering a $30 store gift card when you transfer a prescription there from another pharmacy. You have to go to their website and print off the coupon. (If you dont have a printer, the coupons are also sometimes in their ads.) The coupon is good thru 9/30 and says one per person. However, when I filled mine, they also gave me 6 more coupons for $30 gift cards for each additional r/x I wanted to transfer from another pharmacy! :) (These were on the back of the info sheet they print off about the meds.) Those were good thru Jan 2009. Though this coupon says you can only use 1 coupon for a transfer every 6 mo, they apparently changed the policy or somethng after they made up these coupons, b/c now they will allow more and my store (and a few of my out of town friends stores) even ENCOURAGED us to use as many as we wanted as long as they were each used for a different script transfer each time.

If you dont have a Rite Aid in your area, that isnt a problem either, b/c Kmart and CVS will honor competitors coupons, and since r/xes can be filled at Rite Aid online, that makes them a competitor! If you are lucky enough to have all 3 chains in your area, you can fill at Rite Aid this month, and get $30 card(s), then transfer the r/xes to CVS next month and get a $30 gift card(s) from them, and then transfer them to Kmart the next month and get gift cards from them! (The cards cant be used toward the copay for meds or med price at any of the stores. It is only good for store merchandise.)
I had 4 r/xes and got $360 in gift cards in all by doing this. Hope this helps you out as much as it did me! (The stores still make money b/c of the difference in what we pay for an r/x and what our insurance pays. Also, obviously, they are banking on lots of people liking their services well enough to leave the r/xes there of that people will just forget to move them back to their original pharmacy. Of course most people also buy lots of other stuff too once they are in the doors, (just not thrifty shoppers like us! :)) The website to get go print off the coupon for Rite Aid is http://www.riteaid.com/pharmacy/prescription_transfer.jsf I hope this will help you as much as it did me. (I just wanted to be able to give something back to you, since I got so much from your blog.)

Well, thanks again for writing such a great blog with so many inspirational ideas!

Sincerely,
Amaranthe

P.S. One last thing, go to http://www.internetdrugcoupons.com/
to get all mfg coupons and rebates for your meds (both R/x and OTC. These are also printable, and they have every coupon, discount, free trial, and rebate for all prescription and OTC meds. (I got a free one month trial for a new med of mine, and $140 in rebates and coupons on our other meds. The coupons can be used every month too, so that will be an ongoing savings until the coupons expire! :)

Again, I hope I was able to help you like you did me!
