Blogging Community

Under the Awning, Zarauz by Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida
Under the Awning

The kids are all in bed and I have a few minutes of peace, so I thought I would have a quick chat with my bloggy friends before I head off to bed myself. :)

As I've mentioned here before, the only people in "real life" who know I blog are my best gal pal retrohousewife and my husband and kids. The kids' reaction was "So that's why you take all those pictures of our food!" Well, I may have to go ahead and "come clean" to my mom. I talk about all of your blogs to her all the time. She knows about "Lynn who lives in England" and "Tina in Scotland" and "Tracy who posts all those great recipes and I made her cinnamon rolls that time", and "Jenny in Australia who makes these really cute dolls and is a pro at knitting", plus all the rest of you. You didn't know your names were that long did you? :)

I feel like you all have become friends and I so enjoy my little peek into your lives everyday. Blogging can take up WAY too much time if I let it, but I am so thankful for all that I have learned from all of you and the sense of community that you give me. It's so nice to have a group of like-minded ladies to visit.

Goodnight friends!

Yep, that's exactly what happens. Blogging people get really long names, and then we have to come clean. My grandma is the one who looks at me like I'm crazy when I take pictures of my food, and the preparations.

Isn't it wonderful?

I have been reading your blog for a while now and enjoy all of your posts. I guess I should come out of hiding and say hello and tell you how much I enjoy your homemaking blog. Have a great day.

I feel just the same...you're a friend of mine, even though we are thousands of miles apart! I love all my bloggy friends and have learned a lot from them all!

Have a blessed day!

Love Tina (from Scotland...to give me my full name! ;)

Tracy, I had no idea how much I would learn, plus even though blogging DOES take up quite a bit of time, I feel like I am able to keep on track with my homemaking better now that I am accountable here.

cajunchic, I don't know why I've been so secretive about it. I guess partly it's because I feel like I can say what's really on my mind without worrying about what one of my "irl" friends will think.

Caroline, I'm so glad you came out of hiding! :) Thank you!

Jenny, thank you! I hope you had a lovely day. :)

Tina, aren't the wonders of the internet fun? Who would have thought back when we were teenagers (I think you and I are about the same age) that we would be connecting with friends all over the world?

"I blog, therefore I am"..or something like that LOL....I can't believe that in two weeks(really less) I will have been doing this a year...and I still really do enjoy it...and it has been wonderful to meet some on the phone...and I can't wait until Heaven to meet so many in person, Mrs. Brady.

Helloooooooooo!
I love blogging - but only one of my "real life" friends knows about my blog - and she wasn't sure it was me when she started reading it at first!! I am secretive I guess so I can just ramble on but I think it might be time to tell some folks.
I have learnt tons & tons from my blogging chums. It does take some time away from my day but it is well worth it as my home-making is better thanks to all of you.
Love
"Lynn who lives in England"!!

LOL about taking pictures of food! I'm the same way - now hubby rearranges the table for me to take a prettier picture, haha. Hooray for blogging!

Blogging is a really neat way to walk through life with others. Plus, I think women are able to be honest with each other in a way that sometimes those close to us in the real world can't be.

I just DIED laughing when I read this post!! I only have a few people who know that I blog, too. To those people, I can say "Julieann in CA said..." or "Kelli in TX just made..." and they get it. To others, who don't know that I blog, I just say "Oh, my friend Kelli shared the BEST recipe the other day..." HAHA!!

I am still shocked these days when people don't know what a blog is! :)

Mrs. U

Thanks for adding me to your blog list. I have lots of people stopping by from 50s Housewife. So fun to meet new bloggers and make friends that we would not have the opportunity to if blogs did not exist.
Hugs,
Sue
